Doctor uniform has a long history
This garment has a more than a century-long history. The coats were a completely different hue
before this. For the sake of formality, doctors donned black clothing throughout the 1800s.
Additionally, this color was chosen as an homage to the deceased.
Scrubs, historically worn by surgeons over their casual clothing when it was time to perform
surgery, and business dress, primarily worn by specialists in medical specialties with a greater
number of consultation sessions, are two other common medical outfits in addition to white
coats.
